This is a pretty windy beach. Mostly in Hawaii the winds start around 10-11:00 am. As you can see all the wind turbans in the picture there.  But this beach is almost unbearable with the wind by afternoon. Along with some other factors below, we actually left and we had started with the plan to be there all day. 

ACCEPTANCE: 9

No beach in Hawaii is technically legally nude. But like all nude beaches, they are difficult or a long walk to get to, so it's just accepted because of it's remote location. Our research says that this beach is frequently used by nudists and naturists so the number is high. 

TRAIL/ACCESS: 9

Short, and level. Can't ask for much better!

PRIVACY: 3

This beach is pretty well known for nudity and on an island with almost 1.5 million people. It can get pretty crowded on weekends and holidays. Even folks taking a tour on horseback are right behind the fence next to where you lay. 

NUDE ETIQUETTE: 6

When it is the weekend or a holiday, the etiquette goes down to a 2 or 3. We actually watched someone build a tent structure so they couldn't be seen spying on everyone around them. Its not a deep beach so there's nowhere to hide and the wind makes putting up and umbrella to block a peeper impossible. The score of 6 is really for the weekdays. 

SAND: 8

Once you are out of the trees where there are these little spiky pine balls, the sand is nice and soft. 

WATER TEMP: 9

Oahu water temperatures are pretty consistent year round ranging from 75-80+. We were there in May and the water was 79.

SHADE OPTIONS: 7

There are some trees if you get there early enough to snag one for your hammock. If not, try and umbrella but it may get swept away in the wind so use a sand anchor with rope and your umbrella bag against the wind. 

FAMILY FRIENDLY WAVES: 8

Because of the wind here, there are white caps, but it's easy entry because there is a lot of coral to break the waves. 

AMENITIES: 2

There are two trash bins by the entry to this beach near the road. That's it folks!
